#17 Tigers Down Ohio State for Third Consecutive Win

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – It was a big night for the Memphis Tiger women's soccer team, putting up a half dozen over Ohio State to claim their third straight victory this season and their ninth consecutive undefeated match at the Track & Soccer Complex. The Tigers would secure the 6-1 win to round out their season-opening home stand.
Following tonight's match, Memphis moves to 3-0 overall.

- After Momo Nakao stole a pass at the top of the key in the 18', Nakao would find the feet of Anna Hauer to connect for the Tigers first goal of the night.
- Freshman Ashley Henderson found the back of the night just before halftime following a pass from Yui Suetsugu to give Memphis the 2-0 lead at the break.
- In the 51', Mya Jones connected with Anne-Valerie Seto off a corner-kick on the far side of the field to make it a 3-0 Tiger advantage. Just 90 seconds later, Jones and Seto would bring Nakao in on the action for the Tigers fourth goal of the match.
- Henderson would do it again in the 60' after she had checked-in to the match less than a minute prior. A breakaway and solo shot would give Henderson her first multi-goal game of her Memphis career.
- Jones added in on the fun in the 66' to make it a 6-0 game.
- Ohio State would add in one goal in the 81' off a penalty kick.
NOTABLES
- Kaylie Bierman got the start tonight playing 68 minutes while making one save. Claire Wyville saw her first minutes of action this season with 22 minutes in goal with three saves.
- This is the second match this season where the Tigers scored six goals and had five different goal-scorers.
- This is the first time the Tigers have started the season 3-0 since the 2017 season.
