Jun 14, 2023 | Women's Soccer
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Following the best season in program history, the University of Memphis Tigers women's soccer team has released their 2023 schedule, which includes five matches against Power 5 programs.
"We have definitely put together a challenging schedule for the fall; our goal every year is to make the National Tournament," said head Memphis women's soccer coach Brooks Monaghan. "If we can win our fair share of non-conference games and finish towards the top of our league, we put ourselves in a great position. I am confident that our group will be up for the challenges that we will face this season."
The Tigers, who finished the 2022 season with an 11-5-6 overall record and ranked No. 21 in the nation, went on the claim their second-consecutive American Athletic Conference Championship in route to the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament - the best finish in program history. Memphis will play an exciting non-conference slate before starting AAC play with new members in the mix.
On tap for this season, Memphis will open up with a three-game home stand in August against Southern, Ole Miss and Ohio State before hitting the road for matchups at Alabama, Iowa State and Kansas State. AAC play will begin on Sept. 14 when the Tigers host North Texas.
