TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Memphis Tigers track & field teams are headed to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the Crimson Tide Invitational this weekend at Sam Bailey Track & Field Stadium. The two-day competition begins Friday at noon with four sections of men's and women's hammer throw. Action resumes Saturday at 11 a.m. with women's discus and wraps up after the 4x400-meter relays scheduled to begin at 9:15 p.m.
"Alabama is always a good place to compete," head coach Kevin Robinson said. "It's a good atmosphere, good competition, good facilities and then throw a little good weather in the mix and we can have ourselves a great meet. A lot of opportunities for us to continue to improve and hopefully get a few more folks to advance to the NCAA Regional rounds. Now is the time of the year when we should really start stepping up and performing. I cannot think of a better opportunity than what we are being presented with this weekend."
