Tigers Extend Win Streak Against Tulsa

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Tigers wrapped continued its winning streak Sunday and stayed perfect in American Athletic Conference play with a 4-2 win over Tulsa.

The 26th-ranked Tigers (6-2) have now won six matches in a row and improved to 2-0 in conference action.

No. 56 Tulsa (5-5) jumped in front with the doubles point after winning on courts two and three.
Â
In singles, The Tigers got hot winning the first three matches.
Â
Conor Gannon swept 6-1, 6-4 at the third position to even the day before Oscar Cutting gave Memphis the lead on court four behind a 6-4, 6-2 victory.

Paul Fanlo took his match to three sets, but came away with a 6-0, 3-6, 6-4 win at the sixth position to give Memphis a 3-1 lead.

After the Golden Hurricane won on the top line, Harry Rock came from behind on court five to earn the clinch point 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

"What an amazing match," head coach Paul Goebel said. "Every court was closely contested and getting this win after losing the doubles point was a true team effort.

"We played well and I'm proud of the guys for finishing off the weekend strong."
