Mar 10, 2023 | Rifle
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis senior Angeline Henry and freshman Gabriela Zych will travel to Akron, Ohio to shoot in the air rifle competition at the 2023 NCAA Championships on Saturday, March 11.
Action gets underway on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., with live targets and live video for the event available at GoTigersGo.com.
"We've had a great couple weeks of training coming off of conference championships and heading into NCAA's," head coach Morgan Phillips said. "Gabriela and Angeline have been working on the right things and are feeling ready to shoot their matches. I think they're as prepared as they could be heading into the weekend and are shooting the best they have all season. Now is the time for them to rely on all of the work they've put in and execute what they know how to do. I'm very excited for them to have this opportunity and know we'll have a great weekend regardless of the outcome."
On the season, Henry led the Tigers with an average of 594.0 in air rifle, while Zych was second on the team at 593.143. Last season for Memphis, Henry placed 36th overall in air rifle at the NCAA Championships.
