Tigers Throttle LeMoyne-Owen in Exhibition Finale

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tigers wrapped up preseason play with a 104-63 exhibition win over LeMoyne-Owen College Thursday night at FedExForum.
Regardless of exhibition or regular season play, this marks the first time since November 2004 that the Tigers have scored 100 points in back-to-back outings. They scored 106 in Sunday's win over Lane College.
David Jones once again led a quintet of double-figure scorers with 17 points in 22 minutes. He also added a team-high eight rebounds, five assists and four steals. Big man Jordan Brown poured in 14 points and four rebounds, while shooting 5-of-7 from the floor in 19 minutes.
Jaykwon Walton recorded 13 points and seven rebounds. Nick Jourdain totaled 12 points and six boards, and Malcolm Dandridge contributed 10 points and six rebounds.
Jonathan Pierre knocked down a pair of triples to give him nine points, five rebounds and four assists in 12 minutes of work.
The Tigers shot 59.7 percent (37-of-62) from the field, including 40 percent from long distance (10-of-25), and connected on 20-of-33 trips to the free throw line (60.6 percent). They won the rebounding battle 52 to 34 and recorded 23 assists, 14 steals and three blocks as a squad.
Memphis outscored LeMoyne-Owen 52 to 20 in the paint and got 30 points off the fastbreak.
LeMoyne-Owen was led in scoring by Matthew Spears with 12 points. Memphis limited the Magicians to just 30.7 percent shooting (23-of-75) and 22.9 percent from three-point range (8-of-35).
