Tigers Host Bulls Friday Night

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's soccer team looks to snag another win in the column when they host the Bulls of South Florida on Friday night.
Memphis (8-3-2, 3-3 AAC) are currently on a four-game winning streak that was extended last week following a 4-2 victory over Temple. While four different Tigers scored in the match, Lineker Rodrigues dos Santos had a career night where he netted his 10th goal of the season while assisting on Memphis' three other goals. The five-point match earned Rodrigues dos Santos an AAC Weekly Honor Roll nod.
Along with Rodrigues dos Santos, Eric Primo and Bryce Meredith collected their first goals of the season while Logan Longo headed one in just before the half for his second strike of the season.
Graduate transfer JD Gunn earned his fourth consecutive start of the season after making two stops in 90 minutes of work.
"It's a big game for both teams," head coach Richard Mulrooney said. "Three points would be massive for us. This is a very good South Florida team, so we have to have the right mentality going into the game and make sure we do the right things to make the most of the opportunity."
South Florida (5-7-1, 2-3-1 AAC) picked up back-to-back wins over Stetson and UAB last week.
For the season, Jalen Anderson and Ajmeer Spengler lead the team with six and three goals, respectively, while Spengler has recorded six of the team's 16 assists this year.
In goal, Alan Horrocks has started all but one match for South Florida, making 37 saves in 1,080 minutes of work.
Memphis has struggled against the Bulls in recent years – not seeing a win over South Florida since the 2020 season (played in 2021) where the Tigers took a 2-1 double-overtime win in Tampa. The last Memphis win over the Bulls on their home field came back in 2013.
Friday's match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kick-off with coverage available on ESPN+.
