Tigers Louisville Bound for PNC Lenny Lyles Invite

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Memphis track and field teams will head to Louisville for the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational on Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28. at the Norton Health Care Sports and Learning Center where they will take the track for the second-consecutive weekend.

"I'm hoping to see continued improvement in both performance and execution," head coach Kevin Robinson said. "We need to continue in a positive linear progression towards our goal of being at our best by conference."

Multi-events and field events are slated to begin at 10 a.m. on Friday morning with running events to follow at 3:20 p.m. On Saturday, action begins with the last three events of the heptathlon at 10 a.m. along with field events, followed by running events at 11 a.m. Keep up with results in real time at THIS LINK.

Additional thoughts from Coach Robinson:

On the pole vault group: "The vault group did a great job last week, and I look forward to Drew getting into that mix this week for us."
On the distance group: "Many of the distance athletes that competed last weekend are off this week."
On women's standouts from last weekend: "I'm excited to see how Madison [Fleming] and Jada [Shanklin] both come out after meet one. I feel that they are going to do something special soon."
On the women's weight throw group: "I expect Samantha [Lenton] and Amber [Simpson] to have a huge breakout in the weight throw very soon as well."
On the team's youth: "We still have a lot of newcomers who are adapting to the collegiate system. Some of those young kids, Dylan [Boldrighini], Will [Dibo], Sascha [Salesius Schmidt], Tristan [Robinson], among others, will find their stride soon."
