Track and Field Begins Competition at Crimson Tide Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis track and field is set to travel to the University of Alabama's Crimson Tide Invitational to compete Friday and Saturday.
This marks the team's last away meet for the regular season. Events are scheduled to begin at the Sam Bailey Track and Field Stadium Friday at 2 p.m., while events Saturday will kick off at 9 a.m.
At the War Eagle Invitational last weekend, the Tigers finished with a total of 27 top-10 performances. Four athletes brought home gold medals including Tate Wyatt (3000m steeplechase), Cole Riddle (pole vault), Chloe Figgins (5000m invitational) and DeeNia McMiller(shot put).
Riddle, Figgins and McMiller are three of the 11 Memphis athletes with a top-three ranking in the American Athletic Conference. Adam Yakobi, Iason Machairas, Parker Evans, Robert Watson, Vitaliy Favorov, Vigdis Jonsdottir, Mona Jaidi and Elina Nebl also have a top-three conference ranking.
