BLUFFTON, S.C. – The University of Memphis men's golf team began competition at the Colleton River Collegiate on Monday, finishing the day tied for seventh place with a team score of 581 (+5).
The Tigers are tied with No. 41-ranked Indiana, while Georgia Southern leads the 15-team tournament with a total of 560 (-16) at the Jack Nicklaus Course at the Colleton River Club.
KEY MOMENTS
• Sophomore Tyran Snyders led the way for Memphis, finishing the second round tied for 24th with a score of 145 (+1). After shooting a 75 (+3) in the opening round, Snyders carded a 70 (-2) in the second to move up the leaderboard.
• Classmate Esteban Vazquez is tied for 27th place along with teammate Ryan van der Klis with totals of 146 (+2). Vazquez carded rounds of 76-70, while van der Klis posted scores of 72-74.
• Oskar Ambrosius is tied for 33rd place with a score of 147 (+3), while junior James Morgan is tied for 45th with a total of 149 (+5).
