MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The 48th-ranked Memphis Tiger women's tennis team earned two wins Friday at Eldon Roark Tennis Center in Memphis, Tenn., topping Miami (Ohio), 4-2, and Lipscomb, 6-1.

Memphis has now won five-straight contests and is 7-0 at home this year.

"Today was both a mental and physical test for the girls," Memphis head coach Hayden Perez said. "I am so proud of how they handled it. There's no spring break for us coming up. We are ready to get to work and have two big matches next week."

Memphis won the doubles point in both matches Friday, with both Aran Teixido Garcia and Emily Meyer earning two wins. Teixido Garcia and Camila Romero defeated Miami as did Meyer and Monique Woog, and Teixido Garcia and Meyer partnered to knock off Lipscomb along with Miriam Grosmann and Dolavee Tumthong.

Romero had a solid day on the singles court as well, winning twice in the top position. Alisha Reayer and Camila Soares also logged a pair of victories.

Up next for Memphis is a pair of matches in Iowa. The Tigers will take on Iowa next Friday, March 11, and play against Iowa State in Des Moines on Sunday, March 13.
