AUGUSTA, Ga. – The University of Memphis women's golf team began competition at the Valspar Augusta Invitational on Saturday, finishing the first round in 12^th place in the 16-team event with a score of 318 (+30). No. 4-ranked South Carolina leads at the Forest Hills Golf Club with a total of 301 (+13).

KEY MOMENTS
• Junior Brooke Veres and freshman Katie Stinchcomb led the way for the Tigers on Saturday, with each carding rounds of 79 (+7) to tie for 36^th place after 18 windy holes in Augusta.
• Freshman Lea Dawson and fifth year Julia Matzat are tied for 49^th place with scores of 80 (+8).
• Rounding out Memphis' effort on Saturday was junior Victoria England, who sits in a tie for 80^th with a total of 85 (+13).
