Brink Paces Tigers on First Day of Tulane Classic

NEW ORLEANS – The University of Memphis women's golf team began competition at the Tulane Classic on Sunday, carding a 318 (+30) in the first round at the English Turn Golf & Country Club in New Orleans, La. to sit in seventh place out of 17 teams.
KEY MOMENTS
• Sophomore Rebecca Brink had a great first round for the Tigers, finishing the day in second place with a 73 (+1).
• After starting her round with three-straight bogeys, Brink finished the final 15 holes 2-under with three birdies and an impressive eagle on the 516-yard, par 5 second hole.
• Junior Brooke Veres sits in a tie for 27th with a score of 80 (+8), while senior Victoria Gallegos is tied for 45th with a total of 82 (+10).
• Freshman Katie Stinchcomb is tied for 56th with a score of 83 (+11), while junior Victoria England ended the day tied for 76th with a total of 86 (+14).
