Tigers Host Little Rock Tuesday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tigers will conclude its three-game homestand Tuesday when it hosts Little Rock at 7 p.m. inside FedExForum on ESPN+.
The Tigers (6-2) are coming off a 68-57 victory over Ole Miss Saturday night and an 87-68 win against North Alabama last Wednesday.
Tuesday's meeting, presented by Kroger, will be the ninth all-time between the programs and Memphis' third game in seven days. The Tigers are 8-0 in the series, including a 7-0 mark at home.
Fourth-year Little Rock assistant Preston Laird played for the University of Memphis from 2008-11. A Memphis native, Laird appeared in 38 games for the Tigers during that time frame and was on the 2008-09 team that reached the Sweet 16.
Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway and Little Rock coach Darrell Walker are former NBA players in their fifth seasons as college head coaches.
The Tigers will continue its early-season test by going on the road to play two top-15 programs over the next week. They will venture to Atlanta to face No. 11/14 Auburn in the Holiday Hoopsgiving at 4 p.m. Saturday, before going across state lines for a primetime 8 p.m. showdown with No. 8/10 Alabama on Tuesday, Dec. 13.

THE LAST TIME OUT
- The Tigers made a statement on national television after running away with a 68-57 victory over rival Ole Miss in front of 13,264 raucous fans Saturday night in a "White Out" at FedExForum.
- Memphis extended a four-game win streak in emphatic fashion and picked up its second win over a Southeastern Conference team this season.
- Three Tigers were in double figures, led by DeAndre Williams who was under a triple-double watch for most of the night. The fifth-year forward finished with 17 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists in 35 minutes. He also added three blocks to lead the defensive effort.
- Senior Alex Lomax made energizing play after play all night to the tune of 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting with a game-high four steals, two rebounds and two assists. Point guard Kendric Davis also totaled 14 points.
- The Tigers connected on 39.1 percent from the field (27-69) and made 81.3 percent of their free throws (13-16). They dished out 11 assists, swiped seven steals and swatted five shots.
- Memphis opened the game hitting 14 of its first 22 field goal attempts, while holding the Rebels to just 2-of-18.
- The Tigers cleaned the glass with a season-high 42 rebounds, including 20 on the offensive end. Five different players recorded three or more boards.
- Memphis led for 38:06 and never trailed on the night.
NOTING THE TROJANS
- Little Rock enters the matchup 2-6 on the season, riding a three-game skid into the Forum.
- Their only wins this season have come against Arkansas Baptist (71-60) and Jackson State (94-91).
- Three Trojans are averaging double figures on the year with DJ Smith leading the way at 13.5 points per game.
- Myron Gardner is just behind at 12.5 points and is nearly pulling down a double-double each time out with 9.6 rebounds. He has three double-doubles on the year.
- DeAntoni Gordon is chipping in 10.4 points and is shooting 52.2 percent from the field.
- Speaker became the third Trojan to earn OVC weekly honors this season on Monday, joining Myron Gardner (POW) and Chris Walker (FOW), who picked up their honors on November 21.
