Nov 08, 2022 | Men's Basketball
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The preseason accolades continue to flood in for Memphis Tiger Kendric Davis.
On Monday, the senior point guard was named to the 2022-23 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Watch List and earned a season-opening win at Vanderbilt.
On Tuesday, Davis was tabbed to the Sporting News Preseason All-America Third Team.
It's clear from his preseason mantle that Davis is one of the top basketball student-athletes in the country.
The Houston, Texas native holds a spot on the NABC Player of the Year and Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Watch Lists and has been named Preseason All-America by Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook, CBS Sports, The Almanac and Dick Vitale. He was also unanimously chosen to the Preseason All-American Athletic Conference First Team.
Davis recorded 16 points, a game-high six assists, three rebounds and two steals in 33 minutes while leading the Tigers to a 76-67 victory over the Commodores Monday in Nashville.
Memphis returns to action Nov. 15 at Saint Louis in an 8 p.m. tip on CBS Sports Network.
Season tickets for all 15 home games are available at GoTigersGo.com, with a mobile pass allowing fans to experience a different seating location for each game starting at $99.
