No. 13 Memphis Falls to No. 3 Kentucky

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 13-ranked University of Memphis rifle team fell to No. 3 Kentucky, 4734-4691, on Sunday morning at the R.F. Fogelman Rifle Range in Memphis, Tenn. The Wildcats (6-0) won smallbore, 2349-2325, over the Tigers (2-6, 1-5 Great American Rifle Conference) and air rifle, 2385-2366.
"I'm extremely proud of how the team shot today," head coach Morgan Phillips said. "Everyone is making big improvements and there is still a lot of room left for the spring. It was great to finish the semester with a big season high and shows that our work is paying off."
KEY MOMENTS
• Senior Angeline Henry paced the Tigers against Kentucky on Sunday, placing third with an aggregate score of 1182. Henry placed third in air rifle with a score of 595 and took fourth in smallbore with a total of 587.
• Junior Jack Kersey was seventh overall with an aggregate score of 1172. Kersey had a great showing in air rifle, taking fourth with a 595.
• Freshman Gabriela Zych placed eighth overall with an aggregate of 1169 thanks to scores of 580 in smallbore and 589 in air rifle.
• Junior Kaylene Castillo was ninth on the day with an aggregate of 1167, while freshman Sophia Cruz took 10th overall with an aggregate total of 1151.
