No. 16 Tigers Face No. 14 Army, No. 9 Akron this Weekend

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The No. 16-ranked University of Memphis Tigers rifle team will face No. 14 Army and No. 9 Akron on the road this weekend.
The Tigers will face-off against Army on Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Palmyra Sportsmen's Association in Annville, Pa. before the team's match against Akron on Sunday, Jan. 23 at the Robert A. Pinn Shooting Range in Akron, Ohio. Both matches are slated for 7:30 a.m. CT starts and live targets for both can be found at GoTigersGo.com.
The Tigers have faced one of the toughest schedules in the nation so far this season. Despite the team's 0-6 record, Memphis has shot well against No. 1 West Virginia, No. 4 Ole Miss, No. 7 Navy, No 12 Akron, No. 13 Kentucky and No. 14 NC State.
Army comes into Saturday's match with a record of 1-5 on the season. After losing the team's first five matches of the year, Army took down NC State this past Monday to earn the Black Knights' first win of the season.
Akron brings a record of 3-5 on the season into the match on Sunday and will mark the second time the Zips and Tigers have met one another this year. In that match on Oct. 17 in Memphis, Akron edged the Tigers, 4680-4645.
Angeline Henry leads the way for Memphis this season with team-best averages of 1165.17 in aggregate, 590.84 in air rifle and 574.33 in small bore. Kaylene Castillo is second on the Tigers in both aggregate (1160.0) and air rifle (588.33), while Taylor Christian is second in small bore at 572.2.
