MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis bounced right back after its first loss of the season; the Tigers opened up American Athletic Conference play tonight and came away with a 4-0 win over the Owls of Temple University.

Following tonight's win, Memphis moves to 7-1-1 overall and 1-0-0 in AAC play.

KEY MOMENTS

Kimberley Smit got the Tigers on the board late in the first half when she found the back of the net off a free kick in the 31' of play.
Jocelyn Alonzo netted her third goal of the season in the 52' when Mya Jones sent a cross into the box and found the foot of Alonzo to make it a 2-0 game.
Haylee Spray got in on the scoring fun in the 64' when she scored off a bobbled ball deep in the box and extended Memphis' lead to 3-0.
The Tiger's final goal of the night came as a solo shot from Grace Stordy in the 75' of play.

NOTABLES

Memphis out-shot Temple 23-1 with nine of their shots being on-goal.
Elizabeth Moberg recorded her fourth shutout of the season to bring her career total to 52 and putting her one behind current leader, Elise Kuhar-Pitters.
This is the third consecutive match that the Tigers have recorded 20 or more shots.

UP NEXT

The Tigers will spend the next two games on the road; they will face-off with current No. 14 UCF on Thursday, September 23 and against Tulsa on Thursday, October 7. Games are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. CST, respectively.
Memphis will be back home on Sunday, October 10 against Cincinnati with kick-off slated for 1 p.m. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
