Bray, Nakao Net First Goals of Season in Team’s 2-1 Win Over UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. – It was a big night for the Tigers as they traveled to Orlando to take on the Knights of UCF in their first American Athletic Conference road competition of the 2021 season. Memphis would get two goals in the second half of play to secure the 2-1 win over UCF.

Following tonight's win, Memphis moves to 8-1-1 overall and 2-0-0 in AAC play.

KEY MOMENTS

Memphis got on the board first when Mackenzie Bray netted her first goal of the season in the 47' off a corner kick. Both Saorla Miller and Momo Nakao recorded assists off her goal.
Nakao would extend the Tiger's lead out to 2-0 when she got a ball from Tanya Boychuk and found the back of the net off a shot from the middle of the box.
UCF would cut Memphis' lead back to one after Darla Rajaee would get one past the Tiger's defense just 90 seconds after Nakao scored.

NOTABLES

Memphis out-shot the Knights 18-7 with nine of their shots being on-goal.
Elizabeth Moberg recorded one save tonight while seeing just two shots sent her way all night.
This is the Tiger's fourth consecutive win over UCF.

The Tigers will stay on the road for their next match against Tulsa on Thursday, October 7. Next week's match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
