Track and Field to compete in American Athletic Conference Championships

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After the completion of the regular season two weeks ago, the University of Memphis track and field squad is set to begin competition at the American Athletic Conference Championships today.
The meet will continue through Sunday at the USF Track and Field Stadium in Tampa. Events begin at 11 a.m. today with the men's and women's hammer throw, and the meet will conclude with the awards ceremony Sunday night after the distance events.
This is the first outdoor conference championships since 2019 in Wichita, Kan, where the men placed sixth as a team, and the women's side placed fourth for the best conference finish since 1996.
Head coach Kevin Robinson said that the team has been focused on staying motivated and healthy in the weeks leading up to now.
All teams in the conference will be competing, and the Houston men and Wichita State women will try to defend their 2019 titles.
The meet will be covered on ESPN+ all three days as events begin.
