Memphis Track and Field set to compete in Ole Miss Classic this weekend

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis track and field heads to Oxford, Miss., to compete in the Ole Miss Classic for its second outdoor meet this season.
Events begin at 3 p.m. Friday at the Ole Miss Track & Field Complex with both the men's and women's hammer throw, but the remainder of the field events and all running events are set for Saturday.
Both the track and field athletes had success in the season opener at the Rhodes Invitational last weekend. Double-winner Adam Neelly was honored as the American Athletic Conference's Male Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the league Wednesday.
"It was great to see some of the older kids knock some rust off, as well as see the younger generation represent for the first time," head coach Kevin Robinson said.
Robinson said the team looks toward this weekend and the rest of the season to "capitalize on momentum" as they face tougher competition.
