MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Artur De Luca converted a penalty kick just over a minute after Temple tied the game at 1, and the Memphis Tigers earned crucial points with a 2-1 win over the Owls Wednesday night in Memphis, Tenn.

Memphis is now 5-8-1 overall and 4-4-0 in American Athletic Conference action. Temple drops to 2-10-2 on the year and 0-8-0 in AAC play. The Tigers remain in playoff position in fourth place in the AAC standings with two games left in the regular season.

KEY MOMENTS

Lineker Rodrigues dos Santos opened the scoring in the 15th minute in a driving rainstorm, putting the Tigers on top, 1-0.
The score remained 1-0 until the 76th minute, when Temple's Kyle Hellmann equaled the contest.
The Tigers went down the field and drew an Owl handball in the box, and De Luca put home the ensuring penalty kick to put Memphis back on top, 2-1.
Parker Lackland had two saves down the stretch to help seal the Tiger win.
