MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis women's basketball game scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 6 and all future matchups against SMU have been canceled following SMU's decision to not play the remainder of its 2020-21 season due to health and safety concerns surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Wednesday's scheduled contest with SMU (0-6, 0-2 AAC) becomes the third Memphis women's game this season affected by COVID-19 related issues. The Tigers also had matchups against Southern Illinois (Nov. 29) and UCF (Dec. 30) postponed.
Up next for the Tigers is a Saturday night contest at Tulsa on Jan. 9. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT and the game can be seen on ESPN+. For more information on the Memphis women's basketball team, follow the Tigers on social media at @MemphisWBB.
