Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu and Coriah Beck take home AAC weekly honors

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis senior forward Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week and freshman guard Coriah Beck has been named Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
In two games for the Tigers last week, both starts, Fankam Mendjiadeu averaged 13.5 points and 14 rebounds per game. In Wednesday's win over Cincinnati, she recorded a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds, and she also blocked four shots. In Saturday's victory over Tulsa, she recorded another double-double scoring 10 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
Fankam Mendjiadeu currently ties South Florida's Bethy Mununga to lead the AAC and is ranked 11th in the nation in rebounding with 11.55 rebounds per game. She is fifth in the conference in scoring with 14.91 points per game.
Beck averaged 12 points and four rebounds in the Tigers' two games last week. Against Tulsa, she scored a career-high 16 points. Last week she shot 72.7 percent from the field, 66.7 percent beyond the arc and 66.7 percent from the free throw line.
Coming out of high school, Beck was ranked the 20th-best guard and 70th overall player in her class. As a senior, she led Fayetteville High School to a 23-5 overall record, 12-2 mark in conference play and a 6A Arkansas State Championship run before the 2019-20 season was cut short.
