Memphis Caps Road Spell at Southeastern Louisiana
Dec 19, 2025 | Women's Basketball
HAMMOND, La. – Memphis women's basketball concludes their road trip on Saturday afternoon, traveling to take on Southeastern Louisiana at 2 p.m.
The Tigers (4-6) will play their fifth consecutive game away from Elma Roane Fieldhouse, nearly a month since their win over Louisiana on November 25. After winning their first two road games in November, Memphis is looking to snap a two-game road losing streak and four-game snide overall.
The matchup with the Lions is the second game of a home-and-home series. In last year's matchup, the game was tied after three quarters before SLU won the game in the final minute, 63-57.
After four consecutive matchups at Elma Roane Fieldhouse, this is the first game at the University Center since Dec. 31, 1994, when Memphis won, 96-73. The Tigers are 2-0 in Hammond with both games happening under head coach Joye Lee-McNelis.
The Lions (2-6) are looking to snap a three-game losing streak before heading to No. 2 Texas on Dec. 28. They have already played No. 14 Baylor and No. 5 LSU as well as three Southland Conference games, where they have gone 1-2. Despite an 0-5 record away from home, they are 2-1 at the University Center in Hammond.
Incarnate Word transfer Aliyah Collins leads the team with 13.9 points per game, having just scored a career-high 29 in an overtime loss to Houston Christian. She is shooting 41.2% on 4.3 three-point attempts per game.
Jeff Dow is in his first year in charge of SLU, having spent the last six seasons as head coach at Incarnate Word and the five prior at UL-Monroe.
