Five Tigers golfers honored

Martin, Chevalier, Giles, Harwood, Vlasveld earn All-America scholar status
NORMAN, Okla. – Five University of Memphis golfers were named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars in a second wave of honorees announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Borja Martin, Guillaume Chevalier, Nick Giles, William Harwood and Rodi Vlasveld were the Tigers recognized for their combined academic/athletic success.
In an abbreviated season due to the pandemic, Chevalier participated in each of the team's 18 rounds and averaged 71.8 strokes with two Top 20 finishes. Martin averaged 73.8 strokes over 12 rounds, including a low round of 68 and a Top 10 finish.
An additional 404 student-athletes were recognized in the second nomination period. Of the 404, 194 were Division 1 selections. A total of 1,018 players earned the award.
To be eligible for All-America Scholar status, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of eligibility. Additionally, they must have a stroke average under 76 in Division 1 and maintain a cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.
