Today is Memphis track and field's Senior Salute Sunday when the Tigers honor four seniors who graduated from the UofM Saturday and have wrapped up their athletics careers.
Our first senior is Gabrielle Byndas:

Career Highlights
- Graduated with a degree in criminal justice and psychology with a minor in Spanish
- American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team member three years (2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19)
- Tiger Academic 30 honoree four semesters
- Dean's List student and Tiger 3.0 Club member
- Raced in 21 career cross country events, including all four American Athletic Conference Championships
- Ran in the 2019 NCAA South Region Championships
- Made a 50-position jump from freshman to senior year at the conference cross country championships, improving her finish each year
- Had five top-25 finishes in her cross country career, including a career-best fifth-place performance at the 2019 University of North Alabama Open (5k)
- On the track, holds the program's seventh-best indoor 5000 meters and the ninth-best outdoor 10,000 meters performances
- Ran in two indoor (2019, 2020) and two outdoor (2017, 2019) American Athletic Conference Championships
- Had four career top-eight outdoor distance finishes, including a career-best second-place performance in the 10,000 meters at the 2017 Rhodes Invitational
- Also had a third-place finish in the 10,000 meters at the 2019 Rhodes Invitational
