MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis forward Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the second consecutive week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
On Saturday against McNeese State, she scored 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to mark her third double-double and lead the Tigers to a 69-48 victory over the Cowgirls. She is one of only two players in the AAC to have two or more double-doubles this season.
"Dulcy is only going to continue to grow as the season progresses," said Memphis head coach Melissa McFerrin. "She is one of our players that is going to the glass at every shot and she's seeing the results from her efforts."
Fankam Mendjiadeu leads the AAC with 13.3 rebounds per game and ranks fifth in the conference with 16 points per game. She is also the Tigers' team leader in both categories.
Last season, Fankam Mendjiadeu started all 31 games for the Tigers, averaging 12.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game after transferring from Walters State Community College. Going into the 2020-21 season, she was selected to the American Athletic Conference preseason second team.
The Tigers will begin AAC play against USF at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. The game will air on ESPN+. For more information on the Memphis women's basketball team, follow the Tigers on social media at @MemphisWBB.
