Memphis women’s basketball adds Little Rock to schedule as season opener

MEMPHIS – The Memphis women's basketball team will take on the Little Rock Trojans on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse.
Southern Illinois, the Tigers' original season opener, announced on Friday that the team had one player test positive for COVID-19, which resulted in a postponed matchup.

Scouting the Trojans
This game will mark the 16th meeting of the two teams. Memphis currently leads the series 8-7 after defeating the Trojans 68-50 in Little Rock last season.
The Trojans finished last season with a 12-19 record over-all and 9-9 in conference play. They have been picked to finish third in Sun Belt West Division this season. While Little Rock welcomes eight new faces to the squad, they also return plenty of veteran talent including senior forward Teal Battle, who was named to the Sun Belt preseason All-Conference Second Team.
Little Rock is under the direction of head coach Joe Foley, now in his 18th season.
