Men's tennis travels to Florida to close regular season

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – In its final weekend before The American tournament, Memphis men's tennis treks to Florida for a pair of league matches against USF and UCF.
The Tigers (11-11, 2-3) will face No. 44 USF on Friday at 12:30 p.m. (CT) before closing the regular season on Monday at No. 32 UCF at 5 p.m. (CT).
In its last outing, Memphis split its final weekend at the Racquet Club of Memphis. The Tigers claimed a 4-0 sweep against SMU on Friday and dropped a narrow 4-3 decision against No. 40 Tulane on Sunday.
In doubles, duo Oscar Cutting and David Stevenson checked in at No. 60 in this week's Oracle/ITA rankings. The tandem holds a 9-9 dual-match mark, all at the top spot.
Matt Story and Stevenson seek to continue win streaks in singles action. Story has won his last four decisions while Stevenson has recorded three consecutive victories in matches finished.
USF (13-6, 3-0) had a six-match winning streak snapped after a 7-0 setback at No. 17 Oklahoma on Sunday. The Bulls feature a nationally ranked player at the top of the lineup in No. 17 Alberto Barroso-Campos. The senior leads the squad in wins with a 16-2 ledger. In doubles, Barroso-Campos and Pierre Luquet stand at No. 67 nationally.
UCF (11-9, 1-0) enters the week winners in three of its previous four contests. The Knights will travel to USF on Sunday before hosting Memphis on Monday. No. 32 Gabriel Decamps is 6-6 at the No. 1 position. Duo Trey Hilderbrand and Bogdan Pavel rank No. 24 nationally in doubles.
