Five Tigers shoot 1160 aggregates or higher Saturday, four on Sunday.

FORT WORTH, Texas – The University of Memphis rifle squad sure loves the road and it showed in its two matches last weekend. The Tigers posted identical 4669 aggregates in both matches for their highest marks of 2019-20.

In Saturday's tri-match with No. 1 TCU and No. 12 Nebraska, Memphis, also ranked No. 12, was second with its 4669 aggregate. TCU won the tri-match with a 4712 aggregate, and Nebraska was third at 4662. On Sunday, the Tigers defeated the Cornhuskers again, this time in a Great America Rifle Conference (GARC) encounter. Memphis edged Nebraska 4669-4666.

In both matches, four or more Tigers posted aggregates of 1160 or higher, with five in Saturday's tri-match and four in Sunday's GARC encounter.

The Tigers continue their road trip this weekend when they travel to Jacksonville, Ala., for the annual Jacksonville State Gamecock Invitational.

Memphis recorded a season-best smallbore score in Saturday's tri-match (2319) and one-bettered its score (2320) in Sunday's match.
Matt Dorey shot a career-high 1169 aggregate in Saturday's tri-match. He also shot a 1166 aggregate Sunday. The back-to-back matches extended his streak of 1160 aggregates or higher to five-straight.
Arielle Kimm posted a career-high 590 air rifle score in Saturday's tri-match. She also recorded a season-high 1166 aggregate, which is her best since a 1171 at Jacksonville State's Gamecock Invitational last November.
Taylor Gibson shot a career-best 1169 aggregate in Sunday's match versus Nebraska. She also tied her top smallbore score with a 581 against the Cornhuskers.
David Crenshaw tied his career-high in air rifle with a 590 in Saturday's tri-match. He shot a 1163 aggregate Saturday for his fourth match of the season with an aggregate of 1160 or higher.
