Football Game Day Information - SMU - University of Memphis Athletics

For the first time in program history, Memphis football is hosting College GameDay. Saturday also marks the first time that Memphis and its opponent will play at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium while both teams are nationally ranked in both polls (AP and USA Today/Coaches).

Memphis is celebrating homecoming at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium on Saturday. The Tigers are 49-35-1 all-time in homecoming games.

Fans can purchase tickets prior to game day by calling 901-678-2331 or visit GoTigersGoTix.com. Tickets are also available at the box offices at the stadium beginning at 4 p.m.

Gameday Timeline

12 p.m. -- Parking lots open.
Purple Lot $20 Cash Parking through Access 10 and 11 open.
12 p.m. to 6 p.m. -- Beer Garden and Food Trucks on Tiger Lane
4 p.m. -- Tiger Village open for set up (Memphis Student Tailgate area)
4 p.m. -- General Ticket Sales/Will Call Windows open at Gate 1 and Ticket Towers on Tiger Lane
4 p.m. -- General Ticket Sales at Gate 3
4:15 p.m. -- Tiger Walk on Tiger Lane Near Fountain (Weather Permitting)
4:30 p.m. -- Memphis Tailgate Concert Series presented by Landers, featuring the Jay Jones Band

Cost is $10 per person for all TSF 901 Club Members, Alumni Association Members and M Club Members and $15 for the general public.

Saturday's game is Homecoming. The game is sponsored by Conway and the media sponsor is WMC. The following events are related to Homecoming:

Parking

All Blue, Red, Pink, Tan, Silver, Striped, Highland Hundred and Gold Lot Season Parking is SOLD OUT.

Purple Lot Access, $20 cash parking will be available through Access 10 via East Parkway and Access 11 off Southern Ave.

Handicap Parking
Handicap accessible parking is located at Lot 7 off of S. Hollywood. Parking is first come, first served and placards must be displayed. If Lot 7 fills, there is limited handicap accessible parking in Silver Lot.

Please note, no grills are allowed in the Purple Lot (grass) and no grilling is allowed on any grass area around the stadium (on pavement only).

Free parking passes are available for University of Memphis students on a first-come, first-served basis. Passes must be picked up at the University Center Information Desk. Student parking is located in the Purple Lot adjacent to the Student Tailgate (Tiger Village). Students can enter through Access 10 off East Parkway to enter the Purple Lot.

Fans driving to Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium are encouraged to read the back of your parking passes for directions on how to enter the parking lots.

This season, in conjunction with Memphis Police, HOLLYWOOD ST. will be a ONE WAY street from UNION to SOUTHERN AVENUE, going SOUTH prior to kickoff.

Game Day Parking Lot Shuttles

Shuttles are free and will allow fans with limited mobility to visit different areas of the pregame festivities, including entrance gates on both the east and west sides of Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.

Shuttle service, which will commence three hours before kickoff and run continuously until kickoff, will be provided by the University of Memphis Blue Line busses, which have climate control and are handicap accessible. Shuttle stops include Tiger Lane, the Pipkin Building, two access gates and central locations in each of the parking areas. Stops along the route will be clearly marked and the shuttles will pause service during Tiger Walk, which occurs approximately two and a half hours prior to kickoff.

Game Day Ride Share Drop

Those fans arriving to Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium via Uber/Lyft will be dropped off on East Parkway near the entrance of Tiger Lane.

This will serve as the pick up and drop of location.

Patrons arriving by electric scooters will be asked to park them near the entrance to Tiger Lane just off of East Parkway.

Student Shuttles

Free shuttle bus service for all students, faculty, and staff.
They will depart from the West end of the Central Parking Lot 3 hours before kickoff until kickoff. They will be dropped off at the Coca Cola Bottling Co. on Hollywood.
Shuttle services will continue after the game for 1 hour.
Must have a valid UofM ID or be accompanied by someone with a valid ID
Anything that is not allowed into the Liberty Bowl will not be allowed onto the shuttles.

Liberty Bowl Clear Bag Policy

To provide a safer environment for the public and significantly expedite guest entry into the stadium, Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium will implement a clear bag policy for all ticketed Stadium events that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into the venue.

Guests will be able to carry the following style and size bag, package or container into the venue:

Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12."
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).
Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can betaken into the venue with one of the clear plastic bags.
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection.
Clear bags will be available for sale at Tiger Bookstore sales locations located on Tiger Lane.
Other prohibited Items in Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium include umbrellas, artificial noisemakers, baby strollers, outside food and drink, camcorders, weapons, professional cameras (defined as a lens longer than 8 inches), camera cases, coolers, ice chests, bottles, banners judged to be in bad taste or bearing advertisement, flags or poles, illegal substances, beach balls, footballs, laptop computers, and laser pens.
There is no re-entry during any part of a game. All guests must have a ticket or credential at all times on game day in order to enter the building.

Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium

The University of Memphis football program is fortunate to have one of the finest facilities in the nation in which to play its home games. Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, "built by the citizens of Memphis," is a memorial to the veterans of World War I, World War II and the Korean War. The renovated 58,325-seat facility, built in 1965 at a cost of $3.7 million by the city of Memphis, is operated by the Spectra Venue Management.

Tiger Village (UofM Student Tailgate)

The University of Memphis student tailgate area (Tiger Village) is a 75 space area in Tan Lot 13B, directly north of the Coliseum.
Grill use is not allowed on ANY grass area around Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. Please use grills on pavement.
Student parking for students who want to visit the Tailgate area is in the Purple Lot. Free passes are available for University of Memphis students on a first-come, first-serve basis at the University Center on campus.

Fan Hospitality

Pipkin Hospitality Area

The former hospitality tent on Tiger Lane has moved inside the newly renovated Pipkin Building just south of Tiger Lane. The pregame party is open to Alumni Association, M Club, 901 Club and the general public. Cost is $10 per person for all TSF 901 Club Members, Alumni Association Members and M Club Members, and $15 for the general public.

Tiger Lane

Tiger Walk (Weather Permitting) is scheduled for approximately 3:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to gather on Tiger Lane near the fountain for the Tiger Walk.
A pep rally featuring the Mighty Sound of the South Marching Band and the Tiger Spirit Squads will take place at the fountain on Tiger Lane at 5:10 p.m.
Returning this year is a Grill Zone - Memphis Football and the Highland Hundred will offer the Grill Zone on Tiger Lane near Paul "Bear" Bryant Avenue. A number of grills will be available for community use at no charge. Fans who don't already have a tailgating spot are encouraged to bring their coolers to the Grill Zone. A free valet service for coolers will also be provided so that fans can leave their coolers and pick them up outside the stadium after the game.
Game programs will be sold at all Tiger Bookstore stands in the stadium and on Tiger Lane for $5.00. Memphis area Boy Scouts will also be selling game programs throughout the Liberty Bowl grounds.
