Fourteen Players Earn Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced Wednesday that over 8,000 student-athletes were named 2019 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes and the University of Memphis softball team had a school-record 14 players garner the academic honor.

The Tigers also ranked inside the top 60 in team grade-point average with a mark of 3.430. Grand Canyon took the top team honors with a team GPA of 3.760.

Ryleigh Aungst, Hannah Bassham, Sara Ann Davidson, Alyssa Dean, Kelsey Frizzell, Regan Hadley, Kailey Hilderbrand, Samantha Ibison, Jessie Lamb, Kendall Lee, Anna Grace Magee, Gracie Morton, Ashton Stowe and Ashley Threatt were all named to the scholar-athlete list. Lamb earned the award all four years of her Memphis career.

Memphis' 14 student-athletes on the list was second in the American Athletic Conference only to USF (16).

Individually, 8,161 softball players across seven membership divisions earned Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete honors in 2018-19. Division I student-athletes accounted for 1,769 total honorees. In order for a student-athlete to make the list, they must possess a 3.5 GPA.
