No. 17/20 men's tennis continues home stand

Tigers host league foes USF, UCF this weekend
MEMPHIS, Tenn.– No. 17/20 Memphis men's tennis returns to league play as the Tigers welcome USF and No. 38 UCF to the Racquet Club of Memphis this weekend.
Memphis will host USF on Friday at 2 p.m. and the No. 38 Knights on Sunday at noon. Free pizza and drinks will be served for Sunday's matinee. Admission to all U of M home tennis matches is free.
The Tigers (14-4, 2-0) are winners of their last nine contests, which stands as the seventh-best mark in program history. In singles play, three Tigers also seek to extend individual win streaks. Andrew Watson holds a nine-match win streak, while Kai Lemke and Jan Pallares have won their previous seven decisions.
Seniors Ryan Peniston and Watson check in at No. 47 and No. 110, respectively, in this week's Oracle/ITA singles rankings. The duo also teams up as the No. 43 doubles tandem in the country.
USF (7-13, 1-1) enters this weekend having lost four of its last five matchups. Most recently, the Bulls picked up a league win against SMU last Friday before falling to FAU last Saturday. No. 77 Alberto Barroso-Campos is 10-4 in dual match play, including a 7-1 record at top of the lineup. The Bulls feature a strong doubles lineup, with duo Barroso-Campos and Grayson Goldin (9-4) and tandem Peter Bertran and Jakub Wojcik (10-4) leading the way.
The Knights (9-7, 0-0) snapped a five-match win streak following a 4-0 loss at Oklahoma State. UCF will travel to Tulsa for its first league match on Friday before facing Memphis on Sunday. Korey Lovett anchors the top spot with a 7-7 mark. Lovett also teams up with Eero Vasa as the 7th-ranked doubles team nationally with a 12-2 record.
