Men's tennis hosts Dartmouth Thursday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – No. 22/21 Memphis men's tennis returns the friendly confines of the Racquet Club of Memphis to host No. 28 Dartmouth on Thursday.
First serve is set for noon. Admission to all U of M home tennis matches is free.
The Tigers (11-4, 2-0) seek to continue the momentum of a six-match win streak. In its last jaunt, Memphis swept the San Diego Spring Classic with wins against Rice, No. 44 San Diego and No. 25 Harvard.
Senior Kai Lemke, who posted a 3-0 record last week in San Diego, was named this week's American Athletic Conference men's tennis player of the week. Lemke's first win of the tournament came in timely fashion as the senior clinched the match for Memphis against San Diego. The Germany native then followed the effort with a doubles win against Harvard to secure the opening point, the turned in a straight-set win in singles to help seal the invitational title.
Seniors Ryan Peniston and Andrew Watson also enjoyed impressive outings last week, which resulted in bumps in national rankings. Peniston, who was ranked 63rd entering the classic, checked in at No. 36 in this week's Oracle/ITA singles rankings, while Watson made his season debut this week at No. 91. The duo is also ranked No. 37 in the Oracle/ITA doubles rankings.
Dartmouth (14-3, 0-0) visits Memphis after splitting a pair of matches at Oklahoma State and Wichita State last week. The Big Green dropped a 5-2 decision to the Cowboys, but took a 4-3 victory against the Shockers to cap the weekend.
Charlie Broom anchors the top spot for the Big Green in singles play with an 8-4 ledger. Dartmouth also boasts a stout doubles lineup, featuring the No. 49 duo in Broom and David Horneffer, who have compiled a 10-4 mark. Tandem Roko Glasnovic and Casey Ross have also teamed up for a 9-4 record in doubles play.
Memphis owns a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series, including 4-3 victory last season at Dartmouth.
