Davenport earns spot on American Athletic Conference Honor Roll

Senior forward recognized after pouring in career-high 31 points against No. 3 Tennessee

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis senior forward Kyvon Davenport earned American Athletic Conference recognition Monday following his 31-point, 11-rebound performance Saturday against third-ranked Tennessee.

Davenport came off the bench to score a career-high 31 points and match a career-high with 11 rebounds in the 102-92 loss to the Volunteers at FedExForum to earn a spot on the league's Weekly Honor Roll.

Davenport scored 26 points in the second half, including 18 straight during one stretch to keep the Tigers (5-5) in contention.
For Davenport, it was his second Weekly Honor Roll award of the season. He scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Tigers' 76-61 season-opening victory Nov. 6 against Tennessee Tech at FedExForum to earn his first honor roll mention.

Davenport, from Gainesville, Ga., has provided a huge spark recently. He has scored 52 points off the bench in the UofM's past two games.

In the game against Tennessee – which attracted 18,528 – Davenport made a career-high 12 field goals, including a career-best four 3-pointers. He attempted 17 shots, which tied his career high.

The double-double was the third of the season for Davenport and the 11th of his career.

Memphis returns to action Wednesday night playing host to Little Rock at FedExForum. The Tigers remain at home to play Tennessee State Saturday.
