Saturday's matinee is the first of six-straight home contests for the Tigers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Tigers return home for the month of December, and will kick things off with a Dec. 1 game against Toledo on Saturday. The morning match-up is slated for an 11 a.m. tip-off.

Memphis returns home after splitting its games at the Coastal Carolina Tournament, defeating Mercer on Black Friday before falling to the hosting Chanticleers the following Sunday. Alana Davis led the Tigers to victory over Mercer behind a 22-point, 13-rebound double-double. For the weekend, she led the team with 32 points and 17 rebounds.

Gazmyne Herndon, who started her first two games at Memphis over the weekend, responded by scoring 19 points against Coastal Carolina, and dished out 13 assists in the two games of the tournament.

The Tigers are led in scoring by Davis and freshman Jamirah Shutes, both averaging 13.3 points per contest. Davis has scored in double figures in four of the Tigers' six contests.

Memphis' head coach is Melissa McFerrin, who is in her 11^th season at the helm.

Scouting the Rockets
Toledo visits Memphis after defeating Belmont on Thursday. Mariella Santucci led the team with 22 points, including shooting 9-for-10 from the charity stripe.

The Rockets' leading scorer is Kaayla McIntyre, who averages 14.2 points per contest. McIntyre also places second on the team in rebounding, but is part of a team that rebounds as a unit. Six players average four rebounds or more per game, and four players average five or more boards per outing.

Head coach of the Rockets is Tricia Cullop, coaching her 11^th season at Toledo. Cullop has coached 12 players to 27 All-MAC honors in her time as head coach.
