Men’s Tennis Falls to #24 USF in Semis

Tigers now await an NCAA at-large announcement.
LAKE NONA, Fla. – The University of Memphis men's tennis team fell 5-0 to #24 USF in the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Tournament. The Tigers will now wait until May 2nd to see if they receive an at-large NCAA tournament spot.
USF took the lead with wins at one and two doubles.
Memphis came out and took early leads in sets in singles play, with Ryan Peniston winning his first set at one, 6-2, Andrew Watson winning his first set at two, 6-1, and Jan Pallares winning his first set 7-5 at five. But Sasha Gozun came back at one singles with a 6-1, 6-4 win.
USF took advantage of first set wins at three, four and six and closed those out for the 5-0 final decision.
USF will now face UCF for the men's tennis championship Sunday.
