Tigers Travel to Mississippi to Compete in Old Waverly Collegiate

WEST POINT, Miss. - After a 14th-place finish at their latest event, the loaded field at the Valspar Collegiate, the Memphis Tigers return to action on Monday, April 3 in a field that features five teams ranked inside of the top-70 in the country at the Old Waverly Collegiate.

Memphis has competed three times prior at this event, starting in the spring of 2013, and continuing in the spring 2014 and spring 2015. Last season was the first time over the last four years that the Tigers did not compete in the event. Most recently, Memphis placed sixth of 15 teams in the spring of 2015, shooting a three-round score of 872.
LAST TIME OUT
Facing a field of 10 teams ranked inside of the top-50 in the GolfStat National rankings, the Memphis Tigers took 14th overall at the Valspar Collegiate, hosted at the Floridian Golf Course.
On the 7,114-yard, par 71 course, Memphis carded a final-round 297, its best score of the tournament.
Chase Harris led the team on the final day with a one-over 71 on the final day, finishing in a tie for 60th in the strong field. He finished the event overall tied with Eithel MeGowen and JC Campbell tied for the team lead in the tournament at +14, tied for 56th overall. Harris and Sydney Chung finished tied for 60th at +15, while Colin Dubnik finished +22, and 71st overall.
