Women’s basketball looks to win third-straight against Lady Techsters
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis women's basketball team will look to win its third-straight match-up against Louisiana Tech Thursday evening on the road in Ruston, La. Overall, the Tigers are sitting at 1-1 while Louisiana Tech is 2-0 on the young season.

Memphis enters into the Louisiana Tech match-up with a 1-1 overall record. The Tigers won a thrilling home opener against Tennessee State before dropping its first road game to Little Rock last Sunday.

With a double-double in the home opener and a career-high 28 points against Little Rock, senior forward Cheyenne Creighton was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll Monday morning. Creighton leads the Tigers this season with 24.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. She is shooting over 50 percent from the floor.

Brea Elmore and Taylor Barnes are also averaging in double-digits for the Tigers. Barnes leads the team in three-point shooting at 57.1 percent (4-for-7) and against Tennessee State in the home opener, she tallied a career-high eight assists.

As a team, the Tigers are shooting well from long range. In two games this season, the Tigers are shooting 46.2 percent from beyond the arc with six made three's per contest. Currently that mark leads the American Athletic Conference.
