Vlasveld Leads Memphis in First Day of FAMC Intercollegiate

COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. - Memphis sophomore Rodi Vlasveld led the Tigers in the first round of the Franklin American Mortgage Company (FAMC) Intercollegiate, hosted by Middle Tennssee State University.
Memphis stands 12th in the field after an opening-round 332. Ole Miss leads the field after shooting a one-under 287, while host Middle Tennessee (292), Georgia Tech (297), Kennesaw State (301), Liberty (302), and College of Charleston (302) round out the top six the field.
Vlasveld led the way for Memphis on the par-72, 7,368-yard course by shooting an opening-round 78, which included one birdie and 11 pars.
Brad Bawden carded an 80 while recording a birdie on his final hole of the day, with Borja Martin, Nick Giles, and Chase Harris each shooting an 87. Colin Dubnik, playing as an individual, carded an opening round 81.
The Tigers tee off tomorrow morning starting at 9:20 a.m. on the 10th hole. Harris leads the charge for Memphis by teeing off at 9:20, while Giles (9:28), Martin (9:36), Vlasveld (9:44), and Bawden (9:52) head off in order, while Dubnik follows on the same hole at 10 a.m.
