Wang Co-Leads, Memphis Tied for Third After Day One at Bearcat Invitational

CINCINNATI, Ohio — The University of Memphis men's golf team sits in a tie for third place following the first two rounds of the Bearcat Invitational at Coldstream Country Club on Monday.
The Tigers opened with a 5-under-par 279 in the morning round before posting a 1-under-par 283 in the afternoon to finish the day at 6-under-par 562.
Yixiang Wang highlights the day for Memphis, sitting in a tie for first place individually at 7-under-par 135 after shooting rounds of 68 and 67. Diego Lourenco led the Tigers in round one with a 4-under-par 67, while Luke Stennett surged in round two with a 3-under-par 68 to climb into a tie for 18th at 2-under-par 140 following rounds of 72 and 68.
Lourenco ended the day tied for 31st at even-par 142 after carding a 67 and a 75. Christian Morneau posted scores of 72 and 73 for a 3-over 145 and a share of 51st place, while Tobey Kim rounded out the lineup at 6-over-par 149 with rounds of 73 and 75.
Memphis returns to Coldstream Country Club on Tuesday, Sept. 15 for the final round. The first tee is set for 8:00 a.m. CST / 9:00 a.m. EST.
