Men’s Soccer To Face In-State Foe Lipscomb Wednesday

Lipscomb is one of just two more non-conference matches this season
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis men's soccer team is back home to face non-conference foe Lipscomb on Wednesday. Kick-off against the Bisons is slated for 7 p.m. at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.

The Tigers return home after a 1-1 double-overtime draw to UCF last Saturday. The match saw freshman Jackson Brady score his first collegiate goal in just the 10th minute of action. He becomes the seventh Memphis player to put a ball in the back of the net this season.
Goalkeeper Jake Leeker finished the bout with two saves including a penalty kick save in the 84th minute of the match. Memphis moves to 2-5-3 on the year, with a 1-1-1 conference record. The Tigers are helmed by fourth-year head coach Richard Mulrooney.
The Tigers are 7-1 against Lipscomb all-time including a 2-0 victory on the road last season.

The Bisons are coming off of a 2-0 setback at Florida Gulf Coast, dropping its record to 5-6-0, with a 1-3 conference mark. Now in his 13th year, head coach Charles Morrow leads a squad that opened the year with 11 top-100 RPI opponents on their schedule.
On the field, Lipscomb's leading scorer is Logan Paynter, who has five goals and three assists this season. Kyle Smith leads the group in assists with four. In net for the Bisons is Christopher Zappia, who has 41 saves and two shutouts on the year.
