MEMPHIS – The University of Memphis women's tennis team (1-0) will be on the road for a match at Lipscomb (0-2), Saturday, then will wrap up the weekend with a neutral site match against Chattanooga, Sunday in Murfreesboro. With the ATP Memphis Open taking over the Racquet Club of Memphis for the next month, this weekend's matches are the start of a six-match road swing for the Lady Tiger tennis program.

Where: Whitworth Indoor Tennis Center, Nashville
When: Saturday, 7 p.m.
When/Where vs. Chattanooga
Where: Adams Tennis Center, Murfreesboro
When: Sunday, 10 a.m.
About the Tigers (1-0):
Memphis won the doubles point and needed it in a non-conference win over visiting UAB a week ago, grabbing a 4-3 win to win their third straight season opener under Coach Hayden Perez. The bottom half of the Tigers' singles lineup backstopped the win in the opener, with senior Marta Morga being Memphis' first singles win of the morning against UAB. Freshmen sisters Katherine and Josephine Cao then sealed the win with victories at five and six singles. Katherine's win at five singles pushed her to 9-4 on the year, second on the team only to Anki Wind's 11 wins. Wind, who is ranked number 91 in singles, dropped her spring dual opener, snapping a three-match winning streak that dated back to the fall schedule.
About Lipscomb (0-2):
Lipscomb is 0-2 and will have played a Friday night match against in-town foe Belmont before hosting the Lady Tigers on Saturday. Lipscomb is 0-2 on the year with a 4-3 loss to a UAB team that Memphis edged 4-3 last Friday and a 5-2 loss at a Middle Tennessee team now coached by former Memphis men's tennis player Charlie Ramsay
This will be Memphis' first match up with Lipscomb since Perez's first season at Memphis in 2014-15. Memphis won that last matchup 7-0, but Anki Wind and Marta Morga are the lone returnees on the Memphis roster since that last match up.
About Chattanooga (2-1):
Chattanooga is off to a 2-1 start, picking up wins over Austin Peay (6-1) and Air Force (4-3) before suffering a 4-0 loss to Tennessee on Sunday. Samantha Caswell is off to a 2-0 start at one singles and has teamed with Rachele Gazzola for a 2-0 mark at one doubles. Gazzola is 2-1 at five singles, while Sydney Patton is 2-0 at four singles and is 1-2 at two doubles when teamed with Delaney Edwards. Edwards is 0-3 at two singles and is looking to get back on the win column as dual season play has gotten rolling.
The Mocs are under a new head coach, as Chad Camper joined the Chattanooga staff in August after spending the last three seasons as the head coach at Louisiana Tech.
Memphis leads the overall series with Chattanooga 8-7, including a 6-1 win in the season opener last year.
