Women’s Soccer Spring Recap

The Memphis women's soccer team concluded its spring schedule in a big way, with a win over rival Ole Miss in the final game. Head Coach Brooks Monaghan stressed throughout the schedule that the results were less important than the individual development, and he came away pleased with both aspects.

"We really challenged the girls going into our spring and at the end of last season," Monaghan said. "The kids really bought in. I have been here for a long time now and this has been one of the best overall springs that I've been a part of because of their mentality and hard work. Having a good spring doesn't really mean anything, it doesn't mean you're going to win a championship but it does give you a better chance."

"We won most of our games. Overall we got to see some individuals really improve. We didn't just improve as a team in our mentality but several players really stepped up. We moved a few players around and tried some things and there's a lot of positives from that."
