Criticos Wins Men's Javelin At Auburn Meet Friday

Two-day Tiger Track Classic resumes Saturday morning.
AUBURN, Ala. – University of Memphis sophomore Michael Criticos won the men's javelin to lead the Tigers in first-day action at the 2016 Auburn University Tiger Track Classic Friday.
The two-day meet on The Plains resumes Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. (CT).
Criticos won the men's javelin with a 219-9 (66.99m) throw. It was Criticos' first javelin win of the 2016 outdoor season and his third-straight, top-three finish. Criticos placed third in the javelin at the Mar. 26 Vanderbilt Black & Gold Invitational and second at the Apr. 2 Southeast Missouri Joey Haines Invitational.
In other men's action, Kiptoo Hezron was the Tigers' top finisher in the 5000 meter run, placing 26th in a time of 15:19.56.
For the Tigers women's squad, Chardae Greenlee and Jasmine Wilson recorded top-five finishes in their respective events. Greenlee was third in the triple jump (41-8.75; 12.72m), and Wilson fifth in the javelin (136-3; 41.52m).
It was Greenlee's third top-three finish in as many meets in the outdoor campaign. She won the triple jump at the Mar. 26 Vanderbilt Black & Gold Invitational and placed second at the Apr. 2 Southeast Missouri Joey Haines Invitational.
