PORTSMOUTH, Va. – After a stellar senior season, former Memphis Tiger forward Shaq Goodwin has been invited to the Portsmouth Invitational, hosted in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Now in its 63rd year, the Portsmouth Invitational has invited the 64 best college basketball seniors from across the nation to participate in a four-day, 12-game tournament in front of representatives from every NBA team.
The 2015-16 All-American Athletic Conference First Team honoree averaged 14.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for the Tigers in 2015-16, leading Memphis to a 19-15 overall record before falling in the championship game of the 2016 AAC Tournament.
During the season he set an AAC record with 15 made field goals against UCF, scoring a career-high 35 points, and he also is tied for the AAC record with 23 rebounds in a game, set a season ago against Temple. After his four years with the Tigers, he is one of just three players in program history to score 1,400 or more points, pull down 800 rebounds, and block 195 shots in a career, joining Keith Lee and Kelly Wise.

After the season he was named to the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) All-District 25, and was named AAC Player of the Week on January 18.
Goodwin will compete for the Mike Duman's Auto Sales Team, and is joined by Toledo's Nathan Boothe, Oregon's Elgin Cook, Louisiana Tech's Alex Hamilton, Ole Miss' Stefan Moody, Iowa State's Abdel Nader, George Mason's Shevon Thompson, and Northeastern's David Walker
