Hall Named College Sports Madness Defensive Player of the Week

Redshirt freshman earns honor after 12-tackle night at Tulane.
MEMPHIS – Redshirt freshman Austin Hall was named the College Sports Madness American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, Sunday.
Hall helped his Tiger team to a 24-14 road win at West Division foe Tulane, Friday, posting a career-high 12 tackles in the game, including three tackles for loss. Hall also recovered an on-side kick and recovered a fumble in the win.
Hall, a graduate of Collierville High School, has started all six games for Memphis this season and is currently second on the team with 36 tackles, including six tackles for loss. He is part of a Memphis defense that currently ranks first in the country in turnovers gained (18) and ranks 39th in the country in rushing defense (140.0 ypg).
Memphis is back on the road for another West Division match-up Saturday, playing their first-ever game at Navy, at 2:30 p.m. (CT). That game will be carried on CBSSN.
