Trahson Burrell Named to American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis senior guard Trahson Burrell was named to the American Athletic Confernce Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, January 25.
The Albany, New York, native averaged 18.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game during the week. Shot 50 percent (14-of-28) from the field, 40 percent (4-of-10) from long range, and 71 percent (5-of-7) from the charity stripe and also added a block and a steal during the week.
Against Cincinnati he scored a career-high 24 points and pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out five assists. He shot 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from the field, 4-of-7 (57.1 percent) from long range, and all four of his free throw tries against the Bearcats.
He flirted with a triple-double against East Carolina with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists, and hit 6-of-15 from the field (40 percent) and added one block and one steal.
For the season the senior averages 10.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, while standing second on the team with 47 total assists. He is shooting 45.4 percent from the field (69-of-152), and 78 percent (40-of-51) from the charity stripe.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, January 26, when the team travels to Orlando, Florida, to take on the UCF Knights in a 6 p.m. (CT) tip-off.
