Tigers' Amy Fister Headed To NCAA Rifle Championships

Fister to compete in smallbore Mar. 13-14 in Fairbanks, Alaska.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For a second-straight season, Amy Fister will represent the University of Memphis rifle program at the NCAA Rifle Championships.
Last season, Fister was a member of the Tigers rifle squad that placed fourth overall at the 2014 NCAA Championships, the highest team finish in the program's history. Memphis placed third in smallbore at last year's championships.
This year, Fister is the team's representative at the 2015 NCAA Rifle Championships, earning a spot in the smallbore discipline. The sophomore begins competition at the NCAA Rifle Championships Friday, Mar. 13 in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Fister earned All-Great American Rifle Conference (GARC) honorable mention accolades in smallbore this season. It was her second-straight conference honor, as she earned the same recognition in 2014.
The Kutztown, Pa., native competed in 12 of the 14 smallbore events this season and posted an average score of 575.8 in the discipline. She shot a season-high 582 on two occasions against Army and at the Withrow Invitational. Fister placed first in the match against Army and finished eighth at the Withrow Invitational.
Fister finished fourth in smallbore with a score of 579 at the NCAA Sectional/Qualifier Feb. 22. She also had a second-place performance (579) in smallbore in a match against Kentucky Jan. 18.
Fister's competition at the 2015 NCAA Championships in Fairbanks, Alaska, will wrap up the 2014-15 Tigers rifle campaign.
